LView Pro is a shareware image viewer and image-processing application for MS Windows platforms, available in 16 and 32-bit versions.
LView Pro is a capable and compact application for a variety of simple image processing operations, including Cut, Copy, Paste, Delete, Resize, Redimension, Crop, Apply, Add Text, Flip, and Rotate, as well as various color and gamma correction operations.
These packages load and save files in JPEG, GIF, TGA, MS Windows and OS/2 BMP, and PBM, PGM, and PPM formats. The file size accommodated by the package is apparently limited to memory. LView provides the ability to customize image processing filters. It is not very fast, particularly on JPEG saves and writes, so it may not be ideally suited as an image viewer. Be warned that the MS Windows 95 version of LView Pro causes Windows Explorer to associate all image file types recognized by LView to LView. LView is, however, one of the few MS Windows applications that recognize PBM, PGM, and PPM format files.
LView version 1.B2 for Windows 3.1 and LView Pro 1.C5 for Windows 95/NT are provided on the CD-ROM.
